Cox Technique

Here at Reimer Wellness Center, we believe in helping patients to first relieve their pain and ultimately return to good health  in the most natural way possible. As such, we don’t use invasive treatments. Our approach involves activating your body's own innate healing ability. One of our most effective natural back pain relief methods is the Cox Flexion-Distraction technique, which Dr. Reimer often treats patients with during her 30-plus years of experience in the chiropractic field.

Natural Back Pain Relief Options

There are multiple natural back pain relief options available through Reimer Wellness Center, including chiropractic adjustments, Graston Technique adjustments (particularly effective at restoring function and flexibility) and the Cox Flexion Distraction technique. Cox Flexion Distraction may be one of the lesser known chiropractic techniques today, so we want to make sure that we offer our patients information about this technique, both in person and via our website resources.

Cox Flexion Distraction is a non-invasive, non-surgical, and a no force way to help patients with difficult and painful back conditions. It has been found to be particularly effective in treating people who are suffering from sciatica, herniated discs, and many painful and debilitating back and neck  conditions.

Cox Flexion Distraction technique utilizes a specially crafted chiropractic table. Normally, you will relax on your stomach during adjustments to take pressure off of your back and neck. Dr. Reimer will make sure that you are supported in the most comfortable way possible.

The Cox table is designed in sections which are moved during your treatments. For example, if you have a herniated disc in your lower back, the section of the table beneath your lower back (where the herniation is present) will be moved to allow your lower back vertebrae just above the herniation to be adjusted and stabilized. If your pain is on the right side, the table can be angled to the left which offers more relief.

After you rest with the table specifically opened in a relieving position, the Dr. will make precise  movements that have a vacuum effect on the damaged tissue. This suctioning action is what allows the damaged tissue, for example a herniated disc, to be guided back into its proper place.

Once the disc is returned to its correct position, the pain and pressure you have been feeling will usually be eliminated. The Cox Flexion Distraction technique is a painless one. Many patients actually find the adjustment to feel great in a soothing way and are happy with the quick relief they experience.

Natural Back Pain Relief Solution

We are 100 percent committed to helping you get natural pain relief. We understand that you came here to Reimer Wellness Center because you are tired of methods that don't work, and you don't want to accept any type of approach that only has short term relief.

The Cox Flexion-Distraction technique is so effective because it actually allows us to adjust and align damaged tissue successfully without taking any invasive drugs or painful surgeries. Many people who are suffering from herniated discs or sciatica might be considering resorting to surgery, but we are here to help you see that relief is possible in a much more conservative way.

Feel free to give us a call with any other questions you might have about Cox Flexion-Distraction or any of our other noninvasive natural pain relief solutions and corrective care approaches!
